Thomas Britton

Creative frontend developer

Over the last 15 years, I've been lucky to work with some great clients and companies on all kinds of digital projects, from the first idea to the final launch. I love getting stuck into new tech and figuring out creative, practical ways to solve problems. I'm always learning something new. What drives me most is building websites and apps that people actually enjoy using and that make a real difference for businesses.

Newsletters that you should sign up to if you are interested in all things web

I’ve personally subscribed to a number of web design and development newsletters over the years, and I’ve found them to be a brilliant way to stay up to date with the fast-moving web ecosystem. They’re great for learning new techniques, discovering useful tools and libraries, and keeping an eye on broader industry news all without having to hunt for it yourself.

Below are a few hand-picked newsletters that I highly recommend signing up for if you haven’t already.

1. Web Tools Weekly

Web Tools Weekly focuses on front-end development which you might have guessed from the name. Each issue highlights a curated selection of tools that can improve your day-to-day workflow, from apps and scripts to plugins and browser extensions.

What really sets it apart is the short inline tutorial included in every edition. It’s a small touch, but one that consistently delivers practical value.

2. Frontend Focus

Frontend Focus is an excellent weekly roundup covering a wide range of front-end topics. You’ll find links spanning HTML, CSS, browsers, accessibility, WebGL, and more.

If you like scanning a well-curated list of high-quality articles and resources in one place, this is an easy recommendation for any front-end developer.

3. React Status

As the name suggests, React Status is dedicated to all things React and React Native. Whether you’re working with React day-to-day or just getting started, it’s a great way to keep up with new releases, libraries, and community discussions without feeling overwhelmed.

4. Perf.email

Perf.email focuses entirely on web performance, an area that’s easy to overlook but incredibly important. From loading strategies to real-world performance tips, this newsletter is a great reminder that performance is a feature, not an afterthought.

If you have any favourites I’ve missed, let me know, I’m always looking for new ones to subscribe to.
